The South Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Program is a partnership of fifty local, regional, provincial and national organizations, agencies, and local governments. The partnership works together to share information and resources and to work collaboratively on protecting the unique natural landscapes of this region.
The BC Wildlife Federation is a province-wide voluntary conservation organization of hunters, anglers and recreational shooters, representing all British Columbians whose aims are to protect, enhance and promote the wise use of the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.
The BCWF objectives are to ensure the sound, long-term management of British Columbia’s fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreational resources in the best interests of all British Columbians, and to coordinate all the voluntary agencies, societies, clubs and individuals interested in that objective, and to develop and support a comprehensive educational program to make all British Columbians aware of the value of British Columbia’s fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreational resources, and to arouse in the public conscience a recognition of, and a respect for, the place of fish, wildlife and outdoor recreation in the wise integrated use of the nation’s natural resources. The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation (HCTF) is a not for profit charitable foundation established in 2007. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to act as Trustee of the Habitat Conservation Trust, which was created in 2007 by an amendment to the Wildlife Act. The HCTF succeeded the Habitat Conservation Fund which operated from 1981 to 2007. Hunters, anglers, trappers and guide-outfitters contribute to the Foundation’s enhancement and education projects through license surcharges. Voluntary contributions, proceeds from the sale of education materials, and court awards provide additional revenue. BCWF appoints two members to the HCTF Board of Directors. British Columbia Conservation Foundation (BCCF) was founded in 1969 by the Directors of the BC Wildlife Federation, to contribute significantly to the perpetuation and expansion of fish and wildlife populations through the efficient implementation of projects in the field.
